In February 2018 I was given the opportunity to design and build a stage for the children's ministry of Cathedral of Praise Church in Cordova, TN.
Their previous stage design consisted of a plinko board and patio lights. I decided to come in and shake things up so that we could teach children a lesson each week that, through the use of their imagination, they would remember for years to come.
I changed the name of the ministry to CKIDS and started construction on the Lab Set that I had designed. The process from designing to final completion of the bulk of the construction took 6 months of part time work.
Myself and a few helpers built everything pictured. Audio, Visual, and Lighting controls are all concealed on stage, and the backstage area is quite spacious for easy maneuvering. Puppet door on the right hand side of the stage lights up from within and the door rolls out of the way. Along the way, minor changes were made.
Construction started in May and finished in July of 2018. Final construction only ended when my employ ended at the church after I decided to relocate to Jacksonville, Florida.
